Abergavenny Astronomy Society meets twice a month in the King’s Head in Cross Street. The Society aims to promote astronomy to anyone
interested in Astronomy, irrespective of their existing experience or knowledge; absolute beginners and seasoned observers are all very welcome. The Society’s meetings have a range of activities, with presentations by visiting and society speakers, practical sessions and opportunities to discuss equipment and techniques with some of the more experienced members.
There are opportunities to learn observing skills or for the more academically minded discuss the latest theories of cosmology at a basic level.
The Society also gets involves with some of the other local astronomy societies in outreach work with schools, youth groups and many other organisations.
The intention is to help everyone learn about the fascinating subject in any easy and enjoyable way.
