All Stars Cricket is a new nationwide programme that is designed to inspire 5-8 year olds to take up cricket and provide a great first experience of the game, and the good news is, Abergavenny Cricket Club is an All Stars Cricket Centre.
When juniors sign up to a central All Stars Cricket administration system operated by the ECB, the central administration system, provides them with the introductory playing kit, runs the rewards program and collects the joining fees.
Abergavenny Cricket Club already runs weekly sessions for 5-8 year-olds and the club offers strong progression between the junior and senior sections. They have girls and boys playing in their junior teams which play in the Gwent Junior Cricket League. Many of the adults playing in the club came through the junior ranks and a number of the stronger players go on to represent the county.
At the end of the eight week All Stars Cricket course all players will be invited to join the Abergavenny CC Juniors for the remainder of the summer.
The club offers first class cricket training and playing facilities for players of all standards. Parents will receive a warm welcome.
Go to www.ecb.co.uk/play/all-stars and search for Abergavenny CC to register. The club has decided to run sessions on a Friday evening from 5-6pm starting on Friday, May 19 – Friday, July 7.
