An Official UK/India 2017 Event.

Khamira is a new World Music band, featuring musicians from India and Wales fusing elements of Welsh folk, Indian Classical, jazz and rock – a truly unique World Music experience!

Four musicians from Wales join three of India’s genre-breaking musicians to create Khamira. Suhail Yusuf Khan’s virtuosic Serengi and vocals dovetails with Tomos Williams’ trumpet, Vishal Nagar’s tabla joins in a feast of rhythms and syncopations with Mark O’Connor’s drum kit, while Aditya Balani’s soaring guitar solos are supported by Dave Jones’ keyboard and Aidan Thorne’s bass.

Having toured and headlined major festivals in India in 2015, Khamira will be playing Borough Theatre on the first night of a prestigious week long tour of Wales – this will be the bands first ever performance in Wales and the UK.

Abergavenny Steam Rally

Abergavenny Steam, Veteran & Vintage Rally 2017

28th May 2017 – 29th May

For the two days of the year Abergavenny is redolent with the sounds, smells and sights of a bygone era. Mighty steam traction engines, respendent in their colourful liveries, with smoke belching from their chimneys, pistons clanking and hissing steam, are still the flagships of a fantastic day out within the Seven Hills of Abergavenny.

Steam organs are an unusual sight these days. Abergavenny regularly hosts three different machines, one of which is used as the accompaniment to can-can girls dancing to a mighty steam organ, providing yet another splash of colour in a field of redolent colours.

This year’s Steam Rally will take place on Sunday 28th and Monday 29th May 2017

Bailey Park, Park Road, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire NP7 5PR
Adults £7, Secondary School Children and OAPs £4. Younger Children Free

Introduction to Shamanism – Two day course

3rd – 4th June 2017 @ 10:30 am – 4:00 pm

Shamanism is a time-tested system for gaining clarity on pressing concerns, healing the Self, the community and our planet. It can be traced back through time to the period of our earliest ancestors and this 100,000 year old practice is seeing a resurgence. Shamanism allows us to access a state of awareness in which we can feel and be informed by Spirit and perceive the interconnectedness with each other and the greater universe. Shamanism re-connects us to our oneness with everything. But how do we access this elusive state of mystical awareness? Through the Shamanic Journey.

For many the Shamanic journey brings about a sense of joy – the joy of coming home. It offers a body of practical methods which enable us to connect with and thereby express our own spirit. We can rediscover our own spiritual authority; through communing with ancestral spirit teachers in non-ordinary reality who come to offer us guidance, support and love. Our spirit help may come in the form of an animal, a human, a known figure or loved one.
The Introduction to Shamanism two day course starts at 10.30am on the Saturday and finishes at 5pm On the Sunday we start at 10.30am and finish up at 4.00pm. We break for one hour. Please bring something to share for lunch or there are local cafes nearby if preferred.

Once we have received payment we will send you full joining details and directions to the venue. Please be aware of our cancellation policy.
