Owen Sheers and Nicola Cutcher to speak at Abergavenny event on rural Wales

CPRW, The Welsh Countryside Charity, is holding an evening of conversation with poet, author and playwright Professor Owen Sheers and journalist and filmmaker Nicola Cutcher in Abergavenny.

The event takes place at The Chapel on Market Street on Thursday 12th November 2026, starting at 7pm.

Organised by CPRW’s Monmouthshire Branch, the evening brings together two voices with a shared interest in Wales, its landscapes and communities. Together, they will discuss challenges and opportunities facing rural Wales, including climate change, biodiversity loss, the future of farming, food production, water resources and rural communities.

The conversation will draw on their professional experiences and personal connections to Wales to look at balancing environmental action with protecting landscapes, heritage and rural communities. Funds raised from the evening will support the charity’s work protecting and celebrating the Welsh countryside.

Tickets cost £15 and include a glass of wine or soft drink and light refreshments. Each ticket also includes a year’s membership of CPRW for those who are not already members. For existing members, the ticket purchase will be treated as a donation towards the charity’s work.

Tickets can be booked online at https://cprw.org.uk/owen-sheers-and-nicola-cutcher-in-conversation/
