Marchers Authors on road to Abergavenny Writing Festival
A group of renowned and new authors, poets and illustrators are on their way to appear at Abergavenny Writing festival later this month.
The creatives are an eclectic mix of writers united not only by their love of words but also for the fact that they all live in and around the Welsh Marches.
Margaret Iggulden, a founder member of the group said, ‘This area has a rich crop of talented writers and illustrators living in Monmouthshire, The Forest of Dean and stretching up into Herefordshire.
‘We gather regularly at the local Society of Authors social events and it was at one last May when we had the idea to set up this group, meet our readers invite them to browse and chat about the books they enjoy reading.
‘Since the Marchers Authors group was formed we’ve travelled to Literary Festivals, library events and various fairs in the Wye Valley and beyond.’
At the Abergavenny Writing Festival there will be a wide range of books for every reader’s taste, from gritty and cosy crime novels, romance and historical novels, YA and fantastical children’s books, nature writing, poetry and a comic book artist will also be there.
So come along and meet your favourite writer or illustrator and bag a signed copy of their book.
The Marchers Authors can be found at the Kings Arms Hotel on Friday 21st April from 9.30am to 5 pm
