5 Things Happening in Abergavenny This Spring

If you live in Abergavenny, or are just passing through, here is our list of 5 things we think that you should look out for this Spring.

1. Davis Cup Legacy Project at Abergavenny Tennis Club

If you’ve got a younger brother or sister, or have a young child that’s keen to try out tennis, you should take them to the Abergavenny Tennis Club, opposite Abergavenny Thursdays, this May. The tennis club are offering a free 6-week course for 5-8 year olds who have never played before, 3:45-4:30 on a Monday starting May 16th. 2. Abergavenny Steam Rally

The Abergavenny Steam, Vintage and Veteran Rally will be returning to Bailey Park Sunday May 29th and Monday May 30th for its annual show. The rally is a truly unique event that people of all ages can enjoy. For prices and more information click here.

3. Gavenny Gigs Events

If you like live music from local bands you should check out Gavenny Gigs. They often hold events at the Labour Club including our recently featured ‘Bands Under the Spotlight’ band, Quickhatch! For more information on upcoming gigs check out their website here.

4. Abergavenny Writing Festival

The Abergavenny Writing Festival is for anyone who loves writing and the written word. The festival will debut this April 21-23 at the Kings Arms Hotel. For the full line up of events check out our article by clicking here.

5. Friends of Castle Meadows Walks

If you enjoy walks and the countryside, the Friends of Castle Meadows group is holding morning walks from April 16th to May 14th, starting off with Myths and Stories of Plants, with Fiona Ford. A list of walks, dates and times can be found here.
