Abergavenny Roundtable Spotlight

If you’ve ever been to a fireworks display at Belgrave Park then you’ve heard of Round Table. We’ve put on a fireworks display for the town for the last 47 years! The Town Council approached us and asked if we could do something to fill the void left by the annual carnival, which sadly isn’t happening at the moment. We got our heads together and came up with the idea of a music festival! Up until now, our main source of income has been from the fireworks. This music festival will now give us the opportunity to raise even more money, but also give local artists a chance to showcase their talent! Here’s a few examples of charities, clubs and people we’ve helped out….

Abergavenny Shop Mobility – we sponsor 4 scooters to pay for their maintenance.

Abergavenny Food Bank – as well as donating food, we’re in talks with the foodbank about paying for a monthly supermarket shop.

Abergavenny Canoe Club – we bought 2 canoes for the club to help them train new members.

Visions In Glass – we made a donation to this local young people’s theatre group to help them pay for puppets for their production of Avenue Q.

Gilwern Bowls Club – a donation to help towards green keeping fees.

As well as this we have done lots more over the years!

So what’s Round Table all about? We’re a bunch of guys that get together twice a month, have fun but also raise money for charities and good causes in the local area. Round Table is all about trying a diverse range of fun activities that you wouldn’t normally do or have the opportunity to do as an individual, with a group of people from different backgrounds, that you wouldn’t normally meet. You can learn all sorts of new skills, while making a real difference to your local community, and it’s not just local — it’s global, with clubs in more than 65 countries, on every continent on the world. We’re just normal local guys, some with families, some without. We aim to have a lot of fun but also to put something back into the local community.

If you would like to take advantage of this unique combination of elements that has the power to change lives, get in touch. You never know where it might take you!
