Breaking: Members of the Wales team to be welcomed to the Pavilion stage

The Eisteddfod crowd will be able to show their support for the Welsh football team following their success at the recent Euros competition today, as Osian Roberts and Ian Gwyn Hughes are welcomed to the Pavilion stage this afternoon.

The two, who were such a great part of the success of the team in France, will be presented to the crowds and the nation on the stage at 16.15 before the Prose Medal Ceremony.

Eifion Lloyd Jones, Chair of the Eisteddfod Council, said, “It was great to see Maes D so full for the football discussion earlier, and to hear Osian and Ian describe their recent experiences. It was a great honour to invite them to come to the Pavilion on behalf of the Eisteddfod this afternoon, so we can show our appreciation of their success.

“The Eisteddfod has a strong relationship with the FAW, and in the past, the Welsh squad has been announced at the festival. We are delighted to work with the Association today to welcome Ian and Osian to the stage so that Eisteddfod crowds and supporters will be able to congratulate the team and to thank them for everything.”
