Individuals and groups who help to sustain and support communities in Abergavenny and its surrounding areas are invited to attend a celebration and networking event hosted by Monmouthshire County Council in the town’s Market Hall.
The event on Thursday 5th July from 6.30pm to 8.30pm will provide an opportunity to highlight and showcase the many groups and individuals who dedicate their time to make great things happen. The historic Market Hall provides a perfect space to host a large number of groups, individuals, practitioners and organisations.
The event will be led by Monmouthshire’s Community Development and Partnerships Lead Officer, Owen Wilce. Owen works with community groups and individuals as well as the Gwent Association of Voluntary Associations to increase and support the fantastic community spirit that exists in Abergavenny and the event will be an opportunity to thank people and acknowledge their contribution and commitment.
It will also present a unique opportunity for volunteers and community groups to engage, develop networks and build relationships to strengthen local activity. A wide range of professionals and organisations will be present to offer funding advice, volunteer support and training opportunities.
A similar occasion in Chepstow was an outstanding success and the council hopes to host related events in each of the towns across Monmouthshire.
