78 Dogs Set Barking Mad Record

Local dog holiday specialists Barking Mad Pontypool and a team of canine co-workers have helped to set an exciting record for the number of dogs on a LIVE video conference call. On 21st June, dog lovers at Barking Mad Pontypool celebrated the UK’s official Bring Your Dog to Work Day (#BringYourDogToWorkDay) by inviting dogs and their owners to take part in a LIVE ‘Woofing Webinar’.

Alison Preece, owner-operator at Barking Mad Pontypool, said:

“We were delighted to have 78 dogs on our LIVE Woofing Webinar! We hope that everyone enjoyed the experience and had as much fun as we did. It was great to link up with the official Bring Your Dog to Work Day team LIVE and we really appreciated their involvement. Our office dogs, Poppet and Sweep were delighted to preside over proceedings, before the excitement got too much and they curled up and started snoring.

We had great fun with this event but the day actually had a very important purpose and raised vital funds for charities dedicated to making a difference to the welfare of dogs.”

The UK’s sixth official Bring Your Dog to Work Day took place on Friday 21st June and encouraged businesses to welcome employees’ canine companions into the workplace just for one day, to raise money for charity. The event was founded and organised by ethical dog grooming product company, HOWND, and raised money for All Dogs Matter, Animals Asia and other charities chosen by participants.

www.bringyourdogtoworkday.co.uk said of the benefits of taking part:

“Many scientific studies have concluded that the presence of pets can substantially reduce a person’s stress level in the workplace. Increased job satisfaction, team co-operation and morale have all been reported in employees that spend the workday with their pets.”

As you might expect, Barking Mad was a huge advocate and official sponsor of the special day. Alison continues:

“As a dog sitting business professional, I feel incredibly lucky to be able to work with dogs and dog lovers every day. I am delighted to be able to offer a volunteer dog cuddling opportunity to dog lovers in my local area. For those who are retired or work from home and are spending large chunks of time alone, caring for a waggy-tailed companion on a temporary basis and meeting other like-minded dog lovers can be a lovely activity.

We offer the opportunity to care for dogs in your own home, while their owners are away on holiday. To find out more about becoming a Barking Mad host, you can call 01495 400195 or visit www.barkingmad.uk.com/become-a-dog-sitter/.
