All Day Sept 12th-15th The Abergavenny Youth & Community Education Centre will be holding several classes this week, click on the class to find out more:
(12/09/16) General Sewing & Dressmaking for Beginners, Tablet – The First Steps (Short Course), Job Skills Club, IPad Course – The First Steps, Art for All – Mixed Media Art Class.
(13/09/16) Make your own Soft Furnishings, Italian Beginners, Knitting & Crochet for Beginners (Short Course).
(14/09/16) Spanish Improvers Course (Year 3+).
(15/09/16) Computers for Beginners, French Beginners Course, Spanish Beginners Course.
All classes are based at the Abergavenny Youth and Community Education Centre: Old Hereford Rd, Abergavenny NP7 6EL.
Public consultation event for River Usk footbridge plans
13th-14th Sept 10am-7pm
Monmouthshire County Council is to consult the public over its plans to build a walking and cycling footbridge over the River Usk at Llanfoist. Public consultation events will be held in Llanfoist Village Hall from 10am to 7pm on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th September. Open Mic at The Somerset Arms
15th Sept 8.30pm-10.30pm
The Open Mic Appreciation Society of Abergavenny hosts open mics in various pubs in Abergavenny.
Join them this week for open mic at The Somerset Arms.
Rosie Boycott – Whose Food Is It Anyway?
16th Sept 6.30pm-8.30pm
World renowned political activist, food campaigner and journalist and until recently adviser to the Mayor of London on Food policy and strategy, Rosie Boycott will lead a discussion with the audience about local food sourcing, waste and food quality, and what level of influence we all have over these things. This will be accompanied by music and food related stories from Zimbabwe and there will be food stalls in this magnificent church of Abergavenny, that was once an Abbey with its own production of food for a community. Held at St. Mary’s Church.
This is a Free event ( part of the Festival Fringe ): donations welcome.

Welsh Beer Festival and music from ‘Feelin It’
17th 2pm-10.30pm 18th 2pm-6pm Sept
Saturday: The Grofield will be having their Welsh Beer Festival on Saturday 2pm until 11.30pm with ‘Feelin It’ playing at 6.30pm until 9.30pm.
Then on Sunday 18th Sept the festival will stay open til 6pm.
The list of beers are Rhymney Gold, Otley, Sundown and UPA from Untapped,Baa bitter and Horny Goat Ale with 2 more…

Abergavenny Community Centre – Various Activites
The community centre hosts an ever changing and growing series of activities every week day and Saturday.

Markets in the Market Hall
The market is based in the heart of the town and is always busy. The general market is held every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm.
The Bric-a-Brac antiques fair will be held Wednesdays.
